Pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation 2016/679 / EU (hereinafter, Regulation) the Marco Biagi Foundation, in its capacity as Data Controller, hereby informs the interested party that their data will be processed in the following manner and for the following purposes.
Nature of personal data
The data processing will concern personal data limited to the data strictly pertinent and functional to the intended purposes.
Purpose of data processing
The data will be processed by the Data Controller exclusively:
- to assess your application to take part in the competition, to select short films and, for the successful candidate, for the conferral of the award and the management of administrative and fiscal matters
- to create an archive for the purposes of searching, valorizing and promoting audiovisual documentary films favouring interdisciplinary research into contemporary work.
Legal basis of data processing
The legal basis of the data processing is the consent freely given by the interested party.
Processing methods
The processing of personal data may concern all the operations specified in Article 4 (2) Regulations. In any case, the limits and principles of accuracy, lawfulness, purpose, quality, relevance, proportionality and transparency shall be respected. Personal data shall be processed with automatic tools for the time strictly necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. The data shall be stored in the electronic or/and paper archives. The data processing shall be carried out directly by the Data Controller’s organization or by professionals with whom the Data Controller has established collaboration for the selection purposes.
In any case, the data shall be processed in a manner strictly related to the purposes specified and with methods that ensure their security and confidentiality, through the adoption of suitable measures to prevent alteration, cancellation, destruction, unauthorized access or treatment not permitted or not in accordance with the purposes of the collection.
Nature of data provision and consequences of refusal
The granting of consent for the processing of personal data by the interested party is mandatory. Any refusal, in whole or in part, to provide such data, or an incorrect or inaccurate provision, will make it impossible for the Data Controller to manage and evaluate the application to take part in the competition and the subsequent selection in addition to the conferral of the award and the management of administrative and tax matters for the successful candidate.
Data disclosure to third parties and dissemination
The data may be disclosed to third parties for the purposes of management of administrative and fiscal matters.
Photography and video recordings
Interested parties are hereby informed that pursuant to Article 97 of the Legge sul Diritto di Autore (Copyright Act, No. 633 of 22 April 1941) any photographs and / or video recordings in which they appear, taken on the occasion of the conference, seminar or other public event in which they participate, may only be used for information purposes and / or for the academic, educational or cultural aims pursued by the Foundation according to its Statute.
Rights of interested parties
Interested parties may exercise the right:
1. to access their personal data;
2. to obtain the rectification or cancellation of the data or the limitation of the data processing concerning the user;
3. to object to data processing;
4. to take advantage of data portability;
5. to revoke consent: the revocation of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the data processing based on the consent given prior to revocation;
6. to lodge a complaint with the Garante della Privacy (Italian Data Protection Authority).

Duration of data processing and period of retention
The personal data voluntarily provided by the interested party for the purpose referred to in point a) shall be processed by the Data Controller for the entire selection period and kept on file for a period of 12 months following the conferral of the award.
With specific reference to the data of the successful candidates, this data will be processed for the entire duration of the selection and kept on file for a subsequent period of 10 years from the conferral of the award.
As for the personal data, they will be processed for the purpose referred to in point b) for the period of activity of the archive aimed at researching, valorizing and promoting audiovisual documentary films favouring interdisciplinary research into contemporary work.
